About Us

Fighting for Sight was established in 2001 to protect the vision of the people in Scotland and, specifically, Grampian. The charity has already raised money to build a dedicated Clinical Research Centre, adjacent to the Eye Out-patient Clinic at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. This was opened last year and now the charity continues to raise money to both provide equipment and fund ongoing research. Fighting for Sight is a charity that has been created to:

(1) support high quality clinical research focused on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of eye diseases in adults and children

(2) equip and furnish the research and clinical rooms in the Fighting for Sight Clinical Research Centre

(3) help provide visual rehabilitation and visual aids to the visually impaired patients

(4) promote patient education and creation of support groups.
